My fellow Members,
To
keep you updated, we have made a lot of progress in our post. The contractor
crew is working at a remarkable pace. They have completely removed all of the
drywall. The wall throughout the post are now all studs. In the Murphy room,
all the studs and walls have been treated with a special solution and sealer to
insure that mold and mildew will not accumulate. After that, they insulated the
bare walls and installed new drywall throughout the entire Murphy room. This is
the same process they will use for the rest of the building. They also
constructed a temporary wall where we once had bi-fold curtains. This is to
separate the Murphy room from the rest of the building while they continue
working.
As you can see, our efforts are geared to have the Murphy
room opened first. The rest of the building will take longer to complete.
We are expecting a representative from the
Environmental Protection Agency on 10/17 or 10/18. They will be here to certify
that our post is safe to occupy. Once that has been determined, we will move
forward to get our bar stocked and furnish the Murphy room for a "Grand
Opening". I will keep you posted as to that date.
Ken Corr has indicated in the Post app that he is getting
many calls about the Post progress. As he indicated, he is in charge of the
Disaster Relief site only. Please direct all questions about the Post progress
to me. My personal cell phone number is below. Also, please only call between
the hour of IOAM and 6PM.
As we move forward, I will continue to keep you informed. Perhaps we can enjoy a frosty cocktail together soon! I'll let you know.
Sincerely,
Ralph BlydenburghCommander
